After graduating from Case Western’s School of Medicine in 1983, Dr. Marjorie Greenfield completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital and University Hospitals MacDonald House. She then became an attending physician at MacDonald, where she is the longest continuously serving faculty member (but not the oldest).
She is currently Vice Chair for Faculty Development and Chief of the Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology. She was promoted to Professor at Case in 2010.
Dr Greenfield has written extensively for health and parenting websites, including DrSpock.com, Yahoo, and Disney’s BabyZone. She was a reviewer and contributor for the 40th anniversary edition of the women’s health classic, Our Bodies Ourselves.
Her first book, Dr. Spock’s Pregnancy Guide, was translated into eight languages. The Working Woman’s Pregnancy Book, originally published by Yale University Press in 2008, released in an updated e-book format in 2015.
Dr. Greenfield has been recognized for clinical excellence, leadership, and teaching by local and national organizations. She is a perennial Cleveland Magazine “Top Doc” and was nominated this year for an Athena award for women’s leadership. Women at the 2015 NotMom Summit applauded her openness and easy-to-understand descriptions of our bodies' processes.
